A Selection of Other Initiatives*
- We hosted British cycling heroes Alec Briggs, Tao Geoghegan Hart, Ethan Hayter, Abi Van Twisk and Fred Wright in a zoom meeting for South London school children, to inspire children to cycle. The big message? Just get out there and cycle. Go to Herne Hill Velodrome if you can. Have fun! Tao told the children: “There’s so many beautiful things to be had just from getting on a bicycle.”
- Our schools undertook a variety of fun and educational initiatives to support Clean Air Day 2019.
- JAGS Junior School held a play street on Greendale to promote Car Free day.
- The Charter North Dulwich hosted a bike maintenance group following the installation of cycle parking.
- Dulwich Village Infant School, with the support of Southwark Council, planted a green screen.
- Dulwich Hamlet Junior School ran a Bikeability training course for pupils.
- JAGS Junior School hosted Dulwich Wood Primary School at the Velodrome for a cycling activity day.
- Alleyn's School hosted Dr Ian Mudway to discuss the effects of air pollution with the parent community.
