The Vision

Healthy Streets

There is evidence demonstrating that low traffic neighbourhoods lead to healthier, safer, more active and more social communities, increasing active travel and making walking and cycling safe, convenient and easy for all. Evidence shows that particularly once low traffic neighbourhoods have had time to settle, local communities support them and more people choose to walk and cycle. There is also good evidence that pedestrians and cyclists spend more in local shops.
